An unnamed city in the East. The Radjik brothers live with their father —an ex- Communist party boss— in an old villa in the capital. Helen arrives at the house one day bringing with her long dormant phantoms whose ultimate effects, like any true passion, are impossible to determine. The constant presence of doubt overwhelms the protagonists and fills them with unease. They are people who inhabit a world of silence. The story begins when that silence is broken by the sound of a gunshot, which suddently punctures the night. The tension of the plot increases, line by line, as we hear the terrible confessions of a Hungarian maid, who shows us that “no secret can remain kept forever. It must be revealed at least once, but sooner or later the truth will be revealed”. It is possible to grow apart from the person you love, distanced by the complexities of time, or to patiently wait for an answer your whole life. But no one is capable of renouncing love completely without destroying a small part of themselves. A woman possessed of a strange power of seduction unwittingly provokes the flaring up of an illicit love in which passion becomes a weapon to avenge the wrongs of the past.

El amante albanés is a circular story with a plot driven by the power of extreme feelings and the blind storm of obsession they can provoke.
